In this episode Designers of Paradise host Erik van Lennep talks with Joshua Tosteson who is an impact investor and system change catalyst. Josh describes how he took a detour from college that led to a walkabout in Australia where he discovered Tagari Farm and Bill Mollison, the “father of permaculture”, and a fascination for creating sustainable agriculture systems. Later Josh works with Rainforest Alliance to make supply chains more sustainable and is now guiding investments.

Erik and Josh discuss “scale”, unlocking transformation, prioritization, and catalyzing multi-stakeholder movements. Josh talks about avoiding negativity, the value of “the epic fail”, having an eye for the land, and leveraging “gangs of unusual suspects”. It is a rollicking good ride – give them a listen.
